Why redundency is a good thing but sharing is better
It's certainly OK to make money for services you provide. However, when the information is taken from government, it should NOT
be an exclusive government contract where 1 private compay gets access
to the raw data.
This raw data should be made freely available, so many companies and
organizations can do what they wish & make cool things.
It should not be sold exclusively to 1 company. Information like:
- postal code data
- city maps
- city services/ultilities maps
- future planning maps
-historical maps
- and statistics and survay notes
it should all be free so then everyone can access it and be creative &
put it in a form that people will learn to like.
